If the items on your to-do list seem to grow faster than you can cross them out, it might be time to inject a little technology into your work day to help you get organised. Frazzled employees around the world have discovered the benefits of using technology to keep them focused and productive.

These productivity apps, available for both Android and iOS devices, are designed to help you get more work done in less time. From creating smart to-do-lists to making e-signing documents a breeze, these nifty solutions will help you stay organised, collaborate more smoothly and hopefully save hours of precious time through the day.

ToDoist

This to-do list app is able to interpret and categorise your daily tasks based on what you input. Punch in a lunch appointment task and ToDoist will automatically create a reminder and put it in the “Meetings” folder.

Beyond your own personal tasks, you can also use the app to help keep track of your team’s activities. You can assign tasks to team members, stay on top of deadlines and discuss projects with ToDoist. The app has a basic tier that is free to use, and costs US$36 a year for premium features, such file downloads.

Slack

Manging your emails can be a nightmare in today’s always-connected work environment. To avoid important messages getting buried in a pile of emails, Slack helps to organise all your office communications, making them easier to locate. You can create different “channels” for different projects, teams or clients.

Beyond organising emails, you can also share documents or video chats with Slack. What’s more, you can integrate the application with other tools such as Google Drive, Dropbox, and SalesForce. You can try a limited version of Slack for free. Prices go up to US$12.50 a month for active users for the full-feature version.

HelloSign

Signing contracts electronically is made much easier with HelloSign. With this app, the hassle of printing out contracts for signing and then having to scan them and email them back is a thing of the past.

Signed contracts are stored in the secure HelloSign system so you no longer have to keep physical copies. All you need to do is draw up the contract, send it out for the necessary signatures, and file it away. Those receiving the agreements don’t have to pay or even create their own account in order to sign them. HelloSign is free for limited use, with upgraded plans starting at US$13 a month.

Trello

Trello makes managing projects easier by using a highly visual interface. You can break up big projects into smaller bite-sized chunks by creating “cards” or boards and lists for every task. These can then be arranged into columns to represent different phases of a project. Move tasks from one column to the next as a task is completed. Trello is free to use, with premium plans starting at US$9.99 a month.
